Community Partnerships

SHENOMA helps cultivate community partnerships, particularly among women and those in the nonprofit space. We support our community by promoting philanthropic events in order to bring awareness to and provide funding for important causes such as youth education and wellbeing, cancer support and women's empowerment.

INSTILLING CONFIDENCE THROUGH FASHION: TEEN SERVICES READY TO WORK PROGRAM

Partnering with Teen Services and working with students that are preparing for job interviews has been such an honor. The Ready to Work Program, is invaluable and covers job skills, resume support and interviews with local businesses. This process is exciting because the students have a chance to put together pieces with some expert guidance or add to their wardrobe, and make a positive impression. When Joelle volunteered at Dress for Success in San Francisco, she knew she wanted to share this model within her community and Teen Services has been the perfect fit.

SPONSOR OF CANCER SUPPORT SONOMA & PLANNING OF THE FUNDRAISER: WIG OUT SONOMA

SHENOMA has been a proud sponsor of Cancer Support Sonoma’s annual Wig Out Fundraiser since the first innaugural party in 2019. Along with other special events such as a holiday shop and donate evening at Tiddle E Winks and collaborations with favorite jewelry designer, Meghan Bo Designs, supporting Cancer Support Sonoma stems from Joelle’s own personal story and losing her mother to cancer, 20 years ago. This organization is filled with love and individuals who are all connected in some way. Serving those with a cancer diagnosis, celebrating the survivors and remembering those we have lost, has been fulfilling and meaningful work.

VALLEY OF THE BLOOM TEAMS UP WITH SONOMA VALLEY MENTORING

In honor of a special person, mentors and mentees came together before Mother's Day for a floral workshop. SHENOMA sponsored the project along with buckets of farm fresh flowers donated from 7th Street Flowers and Petal Muse Sonoma. It was so fun to be surrounded by flowers together and the group about 20 all together, really enjoyed making arrangements.

YOUNG PROFESSIONALS DRESSED

As a volunteer for Dress for Success, Joelle wanted to bring the model to Sonoma. Partnering with Teen Services Ready to Work Program, SHENOMA provides a pop up boutique and allows the teens to shop for an interview outfit.

YEARS GIVING BACK

Joelle’s volunteer journey started with Hospice of Petaluma in 2001. She chose this path, to carry on her mother’s legacy.

MEET JOELLE:

Founder of SHENOMA

While working as a remote stylist for a corporate fashion company, Joelle experienced a striking realization one night (which happened to be a full moon)! She began to question life’s real purpose: following her bliss and putting her skills to work in an environment she was called to create. Even though she was helping to share confidence through fashion with her work, she wanted to begin that work on a grander, yet more localized, scale…

INTRODUCING OUR SISTER BRAND:

Valley of The Bloom

Joelle also creates beautiful, heartfelt floral arrangements for special events. It was while arranging for Cancer Support Sonoma that Valley of the Bloom was born. Joelle's love for floral design grew and she sought out workshops and mentorships to hone her craft and build a community around the love of flowers. Now, she owns floral arrangement business, and SHENOMA’s sister brand, Valley of the Bloom.
